"the crazy pasta salad kid"

How did you meet?

"Ethan and I attended Le Moyne College at the same time from 2015-2016 - my freshman year, his sophomore year. During freshman orientation, I quickly made friends with a girl sitting nearby, one of my now-besties (and bridesmaids!), Hannah (Cicione) Schmitt. That same day, while eating lunch in Le Moyne's dining hall following orientation, Ethan approached me, Hannah, and my Mom at the table.

Ethan and Hannah grew up together and knew each other well, but without that context, I thought he was very brave and quite frankly, a little crazy, when - with a crazed look in his eyes - he shouted ""WHERE DID YOU GET THAT PASTA SALAD?!""

He became affectionately known as "the crazy pasta salad kid" for the months to come.

As the school year went on, I continued to bump into the crazy pasta salad kid around campus, but it wasn't until that summer after the school year ended that we really got to know each other... and I realized I really liked him. "

Tell us about about the proposal

In May of 2023, Ethan and I vacationed in Paris, France! On day 2 of vaca, Ethan led me to a beautiful park right outside of the city where he told me a photographer would be waiting for us for a little photoshoot, which I was SO excited about. I've been nagging him about getting professional photos done just for fun for months and I was so happy that he remembered and went through the effort of surprising me. 🫶

We walked quite a ways through the park before I started getting really confused. I kept saying "Ethan, where's the photographer?! Why didn't she meet us at the entrance of the park? Where are we supposed to go?"

Eventually, we turned into a cherry blossom orchard, and off in the distance I could see this beautiful picnic set up with blankets and pillows, no one around it. I remember pulling on Ethan's sleeve and pointing, saying, "Ethan, look! Someone's doing something really cute over there!" He chuckled and smiled and we kept walking.

As we got closer, he grabbed my hand and led me to the picnic display, where a violinist started playing and he got down on one knee. And no, I REALLY didn't know! I planned our entire itinerary out for every day of our trip... this was totally worth missing the Louvre for. ❤️
